However, the service in the dining room was excellent and friendly. The dinner buffet was also only fair, and left alot to be desired, very limited. As a long term Epic pass holder I thought Vail would take charge here and rejuvenate this fine resort as they have at other properties they own. Our visit to the gameroom there with the kids was a disappointment, many of the games were out of order, and many had been removed and not replaced from recent years. The fact that several lifts were not running made lift lines unbearable, especially with two small children, learning to ski. Our entire family skied over this last weekend. My family are well acquainted with Seven Springs, now third generation guests there. Right now I think I'm going to break my 30-year streak and give Wisp a shot instead.… Definitely not the current Seven Springs though. I would pay these prices for the "old" Seven Springs. ![]() I have no problem with Seven Springs raising their prices. You used to be able to get six or eight runs in an hour, last weekend I got three. So if you're in lane #8, and somebody is still in lane #1, you wait. Why is there a big line? Because for some reason they won't allow a single lane to go until every lane is 100% clear. The magic carpet is also slower, they don't allow you to walk to speed it up, and there's a big line of tubers at the top. They slowed it way down, and they added kitchen floor mats at the bottom that shorten the ride by a full 20%. * All of the fun has been taken out of snow tubing. Omelette guy is now gone, they offer powdered eggs, packaged sausage/bacon, yogurt, some cereal, and feeding four people will cost you over $120. They used to have an omellette guy and homemade pastries with lots of other options. * The famous slopeside buffet breakfasts have seen a staggering reduction in value. Here are the three places where you feel it the most: * The price of lodging tripled, and these are not luxurious accommodations either. Probably as a result of the acquisition by Vail Resorts, the place is now a money pit. A fantastic family resort with enough amenities that, even when the skiing was bad, there was still lots to do.
